The museum offers a wide variety of educational programs for local school groups, from Pre-K through fifth grade. Presentations on 19th-century life, mining, railroads and folklore are among the many subjects offered.

The Southeast Museum’s programs and services are made possible by support from the Town of Southeast, Putnam County Government, membership, fundraising drives, and the private sector.
Deborah Oswald, Executive Director will be bringing a traveling trunk to the 4th Grade students at CV Starr Intermediate School during their Colonial Fair. The students will have the opportunity to delve into the trunk and try on clothes, handle objects, and explore the sights and sounds of colonial life.
Deborah Oswald, Executive Director will be presenting to the 1st & 2nd Graders @ JFK Elementary School on “Brewster: Then & Now” that compares images of community service providers, such as police, firefighters, teachers, postal workers, etc. of the past with images of community helpers today. Students will have the opportunity to learn about how these services were delivered in their community a century ago.
